I've noticed more posts this week about Facebook starting to charge business pages fees for posting.<br />
With the recent IPO of Facebook, there are a lot of rumors and speculation about what is going to happen now that it has gone public.<br />
“Facebook is a free service, and we use ads to support that free service” says Elizabeth Diana, communications manager at Facebook.<br />
At this point in time, the only charge that a business page will incur from Facebook is if it chooses to place an advertisement on the network or use its ‘promoted post’ option. FB has been testing this option along with few others in New Zealand.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RKiwRMcHAt4/T8VWmNJuuPI/AAAAAAAAAG8/c6e3TGYO9JU/s1600/fbpromotedposts.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RKiwRMcHAt4/T8VWmNJuuPI/AAAAAAAAAG8/c6e3TGYO9JU/s320/fbpromotedposts.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Facebook has a unique way to target users for advertisers, because they have so much valuable information about who we are & what we like. You know that half of us use the network every day. FB Ads & Promoted Posts can be targeted based on any combination of location, language, education, work, age, gender, relationship status, likes & Interests.<br />
Businesses using the Promoted Posts option to have posts show up on more news streams.<br />
By default, Facebook only shows you items in your news feed that are from friends that you are actively interacting with or posts that have gotten a lot of likes or comments by your friends (the definition of their ‘Top Stories’).<br />
Based on this approach, Facebook’s data suggests that the typical profile post typically only reaches 12% of your friends and they are working on ways to allow more important posts to reach more friends.<br />
Promoted Posts allows business pages to have posts bypass the normal algorithm and show up on more new feeds of their fans, which means more people will likely see it.<br />
So Biz Page Owners it's up to you to pay to promote. Questions on if you should promote your posts? Most companies look for communication skills,self starter, business/marketing knowledge, understanding of company. Something that is overlooked is management skills, navigating politics, negotiating skills & excellent client communications.</span></span></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 18px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Something that we consider paramount when working with clients on social media marketing is turning the role upside-down, focusing on integrating social media throughout their organization. We drive the campaign of the company, per the CEO's vision without being one voice, but rather having the team members create the overall voice at all company levels. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://webworkerdaily.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/bandwagon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="http://webworkerdaily.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/bandwagon.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: arial; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 18px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><br />

This may sound like some kind of "Pay It Forward" hype. In some
ways it is. We give guidance to so many who are just getting going in
their careers or business that were looking for advice. Some of them
became successful and some did not. The successful ones have returned the
favor 100 times over or more. They refer us, they encourage our business,
and give us opportunities that we would have otherwise missed. This isn't
limited to business. If you mentor someone, you'll be seen as a natural
leader. We have always seen a strong correlation between leadership and
success.<o:p></o:p></span></li>

and took her first “real” job with a top ten communications company. It
was a very high profile job as she trained the CEO on internal business
changes. She was 26 and he was 46 with many successful businesses under
his belt. The thought that she
would make a mistake scared her to death. She was petrified she would make
a huge mistake and he would fire her until the day that she made a
mistake. A strange thing happened. No one got upset with her, and she was
able to recover pretty quickly. From that experience, she learned to always
have a back-up plan. This allowed her to take some risks, experiment more,
and eventually produce ideas that saved the companies training department
thousands of dollars each month. Just as importantly, she realized that she
should tolerate other people's mistakes better.<o:p></o:p></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="color: black; line-height: 14.25pt; margin-bottom: 3.75pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; tab-stops: list .5in;"><b><span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: #f6fff6; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; font-family: Georgia, serif;">Surround Yourself with

income will be somewhere around the average of your closest five friends.
That formula works for us and our closest friends. There are also studies
that show your weight will reflect those who you hang around with. It
makes sense if you think about it. If your circle of friends likes to
bounce business ideas off each other while playing working out, you'll
probably put yourself closer to the path of prosperity than if you tell
fart jokes while eating wings and beer.<o:p></o:p></span></li>

out, we are pumped up with endorphins for hours. It feels like nothing can
stop us - as if we could run up a mountain. Instead of running up the
nearest mountain, we focus that energy on our list of goals and churn
through it like never before.<o:p></o:p></span></li>

What is going on with this summer heat wave? These temps are crazy, which is making people crazy. Are you noticing that people are acting a little strange? I know patience is running a little short around our office. <span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 17px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">The record-breaking, triple-digit heat is affecting more than just personal comfort.</span></span><br />
Here are some ways to make the summer high temps work for you:<br />
<br />
<b>1. Stay Cool -</b> What are you doing to make your customers, co-workers & vendors feel comfortable? Are<br />
you checking on them, making sure they are doing ok? Reach out & call someone today. You can make<br />
these calls in the comfort of air-conditioning which is a plus. Don't just talk business, ask how their family is<br />
doing in this heat. Your biz & soul will thank you.<br />
<br />
<b>2. Stay Hydrated </b>- How are you ensuring your work or business is not falling short this summer? Are you <br />
taking steps to make sure everything is going well before there is a problem? That is key to keeping your<br />
business "hydrated". Doing the everyday tasks that keep it going in the heat. What are some steps you<br />
can take today to "hydrate" your office, work team, or business.<br />
<br />
<b>3. Stay Afloat</b> - <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">First and foremost, the heat affects costs. Operating during the summer months, we try to be </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"> as creative as possible when attracting new customers. </span>Having people recognize us as a valuable summer<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"> investment </span>becomes a high priority this time of year. We have to get creative with different events. An<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"> example is our "Beat the Heat" campaign. How can you get creative to increase sales?</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">Contact Night Owl to see how we can help you beat the heat during this summer heat wave.</span><br />

I am from a particular generation where NKOTB were <b>THE</b> boy band. Recently, I attended the concert in my home town. My friend got tickets from a client & invited me. I have to confess we squealed like school girls at the thought of going to this concert. So I wanted to share with you what I learned from this summer tour.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.nkotbsb.com/clients/nkotbsb/img/downloads/wallpaper-1/thumb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.nkotbsb.com/clients/nkotbsb/img/downloads/wallpaper-1/thumb.jpg" /></a></div><br />
1. <b>30-40 year old women make up a huge target audience for any business.</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://mydatingprescriptiondotcom.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/nkotbsb-fan-mobile.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="149" src="http://mydatingprescriptiondotcom.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/nkotbsb-fan-mobile.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>Yes, even if you sell toupee's for men, do not ever forget this target audience. They have become the money makers of their families. They are the decision makers & they are bright, so don't try to fool them with cheap imitation. These women are savvy & will stay loyal to you <u>if</u> you are real, accessible & give quality. Our downtown area was wall to wall women in this age group with money to spend. While I realize every business is not a boy band, we can <u>all</u> learn from their marketing ideas.<br />
<br />
2. <b>Surround yourself with 10's.</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.homorazzi.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/nkotbsb-joint-album-track-list1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="140" src="http://www.homorazzi.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/nkotbsb-joint-album-track-list1.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>I learned this concept from a business girlfriend of mine, <a href="http://cwmmedia.donordepot.com/node/1">Cindy Morrison</a>. NKOTBSB did exactly this with production, collaboration & tour. They put aside egos & partnered for a profitable business venture. It is important that you surround yourself with people who make you better. Don't be the smartest one at your business table.<br />
<div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div>3. <b>Don't ever give up.</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AUeIQ8Kzi2Q/TgHVhmvScZI/AAAAAAAABUQ/x6EeKPpq5S8/s1600/nkotbsb+at+BRIDGESTONE+ARENA+NASHVILLE.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="128" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AUeIQ8Kzi2Q/TgHVhmvScZI/AAAAAAAABUQ/x6EeKPpq5S8/s200/nkotbsb+at+BRIDGESTONE+ARENA+NASHVILLE.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>No matter what the circumstance, no matter what happens in life, or your career, don't quit striving. NKOTBSB looked better, sounded better & gave a performance that rivaled their 1999 tour. They were written off until this summer tour. No one would have thought they could make a come back to this level. They will make more money from this one tour than what they have made in their careers. Both bands kept working, improving & seeking others who would improve their careers. They are in better physical shape than in their 20's. I bet if you asked them a few years ago if this would happen they would have told you, "Yes!" & you would not have laughed. It did not happen over night, they didn't quit. In the infamous words of NKOTB... "Hang Tough!" don't give up, keep striving & improving.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">"Everybody's always talkin' 'bout who's on top.<br />

And if you try to keep us down we're gonna come right back,<br />
and you know we're<br />
Hangin' tough, hangin' tough, hangin' tough.<br />
Are you tough enough?<br />
Hangin' tough, hangin' tough, hangin' tough. </span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">We're rough!" </span></span><br />

They were lame. We are going to share our tips on networking for the real world. We will mix some old school ways with 2011.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://college.monster.com/nfs/college/attachment_images/0009/4933/Dock_crop380w.jpg?1267577502" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="210" src="http://college.monster.com/nfs/college/attachment_images/0009/4933/Dock_crop380w.jpg?1267577502" width="320" /></a></div><br />
1. <b>Networking just isn't for networking events. </b>You network all the time. Or at least you should be<br />
meeting new business contacts all the time, everywhere you go. Think about that next time you are in the<br />
local boutique or restaurant.<br />
<br />
2. <b>Be Memorable.</b> And not in a crazy way. Be sure you shine & use your gifting when meeting new business<br />
contacts. As my Dad always taught me, "Look them in the eye & shake their hand!".<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://cache.goingconcern.com/uploads/2010/02/social-networking-260x172.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://cache.goingconcern.com/uploads/2010/02/social-networking-260x172.jpg" /></a></div><br />
3. <b>Social Media Strategy.</b> If you don't have one for networking get one. ASAP. Go make friends & "like"<br />
strong business contacts. Businesses are growing through these connections so use it to your advantage.<br />
<br />
4. <b>Don't just hand out your card.</b> As my mom always said, "Ask your friend if they have one too."<br />
Meaning, after you give your card, ask them for their card. Make a note on it where you met & something<br />
specific that stood out about them. Then use that information when you follow-up or see them again.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://dominicbelfiori.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/be-yourself.jpg?w=300&h=208" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://dominicbelfiori.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/be-yourself.jpg?w=300&h=208" /></a></div><br />
5. <b>Be yourself. </b>Not a cheesy salesperson version of yourself. People are savvy today. They can spot a fake<br />
a mile away. Would you want to do business with a phony? So why would anyone else?<br />
<br />
If you find networking does not come naturally try to have some fun when doing it. Make a game of it. See how many people you can meet or give your business information to in a week. Her team has done an excellent job creating her business empire over the last 25 years. There are pages & pages we could write about what we learned from Oprah so we are going to concentrate on her last show.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://static.oprah.com/images/tows/201105/20110524-tows-oprah-finale-promo-9-430x330.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="245" src="http://static.oprah.com/images/tows/201105/20110524-tows-oprah-finale-promo-9-430x330.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Connect</span></b><br />
It's all about the connection with your clients, team, vendors & business friends. How are you connecting with the people in your business life? Do you take time to really know them?<br />
<br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Embrace</span></b><br />
Oprah has changed over the past 25 years. Not only has she changed, she has embraced those who might be seen as her enemies. Are you willing to encircle with others that might not share your business point of view? How are you embracing change? Your business will not only survive, it will thrive once you embrace new concepts, successful business people in your industry & necessary changes needed for your business life.<br />
<br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Liberate</span></b><br />
It's import that your business, no matter what the industry, have a redeeming quality. Oprah is queen of delivering information that is useful in life. When some think of the word "liberate" they have a bad connotation. Liberate is to set-free, release, redeem. How do you release who you are in your work life? Do you provide information that will liberate your clients, team members, business friends & vendors? If you do, they will be telling all their friends which will grow your business life.<br />
<br />
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Love</span></b><br />
Yes we said love. Oprah didn't necessarily sell us on love. She did show how love should be the basis of all our actions even in business. When you act out of goodness, love, goodwill, your business will receive love. Some of you are saying, "But love doesn't pay the bills". Love may not pay the bills, but the business it will bring you will. Some of you are saying, "What's love got to do with it!". Love should be the basis for all our actions, personal & business. What is the heart of your business? Find it & you will be successful.<br />

The maker of the books will have to get prior approval before printing & delivering.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">What company will advertise in those yellow pages? Hopefully not many as the reader numbers will be non-existent.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">How do you advertise? Do you list in your local yellow pages?</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Frankly we are surprised by companies who still pay to advertise in this archaic way. This brings up that age old question, "Does paid advertising work?". </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 21px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">From the biggest of corporations to the smallest of local shops, word of mouth has the biggest affect on a business. Businesses are relying on different advertising methods that are much more economical and fresh. What are some of the new, effective ways businesses advertise?<br />

As I marveled at the amazing event planning and marketing that the world was watching, I compared my business to the Royal Wedding.<br />
<b>Here are the 5 Things I learned from the Royal Wedding:</b><br />
<b><br />
</b><br />
<b>1. Don't let the Noise get to You.</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XGOQ0gDude4/TbsXH_qH-CI/AAAAAAAAACI/nEQMfQrf8_I/s1600/royalkissunhappybridesmaid.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XGOQ0gDude4/TbsXH_qH-CI/AAAAAAAAACI/nEQMfQrf8_I/s200/royalkissunhappybridesmaid.jpg" width="185" /></a></div><b><br />
</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Notice the 3 yr old bridesmaid in the left hand corner of the pic. She was miserable while everyone else around her was having a great time. Are you allowing the stress of a project, event or overall business get to you? Take steps to repair, refresh or rethink your business strategy. No one wants to work with the unhappy bridesmaid.<br />
<br />
<b>2. Don't Let them See Your Dress.</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://news.google.com/news/tbn/96Kj1zwm45YJ/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://news.google.com/news/tbn/96Kj1zwm45YJ/6.jpg" /></a></div><br />
Are you keeping some excitement around what you do for your clients? The waiting to see Princess Kate's dress almost brought the crowd to a frenzy. Would it be as incredible as they imagined? What designer did she choose? Would she choose a long train? Oh how this dress symbolizes the potential we have to knock our client's proverbial socks off. How are you showing your clients what you can do for their business?<br />
<br />
<b>3. Deliver the Goods Royally.</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://cdn-ugc.cafemom.com/gen/constrain/500/500/80/2011/04/29/07/8e/j0/pom9mtjrocvzcr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://cdn-ugc.cafemom.com/gen/constrain/500/500/80/2011/04/29/07/8e/j0/pom9mtjrocvzcr.jpg" width="147" /></a></div><br />
The dress reveal was not a tease. Princess Kate & Prince William delivered. The dress was a knock out. The wedding was a 15. Not only was it aesthetically pleasing it went off only 5 mins off schedule and without a hitch. Well at least none the commoners could see.<br />
<br />
<b>4. Surround Yourself with Royalty.</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.reuters.com/resources/r/?m=02&d=20110429&t=2&i=399944267&w=460&fh=&fw=&ll=&pl=&r=2011-04-29T130551Z_01_BTRE73S10DV00_RTROPTP_0_BRITAIN-WEDDING" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="141" src="http://www.reuters.com/resources/r/?m=02&d=20110429&t=2&i=399944267&w=460&fh=&fw=&ll=&pl=&r=2011-04-29T130551Z_01_BTRE73S10DV00_RTROPTP_0_BRITAIN-WEDDING" width="200" /></a></div><br />
Ok so maybe we don't have access to the royals. We do have access to quality co-workers & business partners. The Royal Wedding did not plan itself, nor did Prince William & Princess Kate plan the event themselves. They surrounded themselves with an excellent team & so should we. Who are you seeking for business advice? Who are you surrounding yourself with at the office?<br />
<br />
<b>5. Give them Two Kisses.</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pixies/2011/4/29/1304103411244/Royal-wedding-kiss-007.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="192" src="http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pixies/2011/4/29/1304103411244/Royal-wedding-kiss-007.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><b><br />
</b><br />
If you blinked you may have missed the first royal kiss between Prince William & Princess Kate. How many times have we done this in our business? We contact a potential client who is really interested & then forget to follow-up. Or we don't try to "sell" ourselves, we just shake hands & move on. Notice after the first kiss how the crowd wanted another? Take a cue & give your clients, potential clients or community a 2nd kiss. It's never too late to show them what you have to offer. That 2nd kiss was a winner!<br />

In fact, there is a whole class of people who will follow an inspiring leader–even when the leader has no other leadership qualities. Being inspiring is usually just a matter of communicating clearly and with passion. Being inspiring means telling people how your organization is going to change the world.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.ubalt.edu/images/pages/Leadership%20Header-01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://www.ubalt.edu/images/pages/Leadership%20Header-01.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; mso-outline-level: 2; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"><br />
</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; mso-outline-level: 2;"><span style="color: black; font-family: "inherit","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">A great example of inspiration is when Steve Jobs from Apple lured Pepsi's CEO, John Sculley, from Pepsi by asking him, “Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life, or do you want to change the world?” Being inspiring means showing people the big picture and helping them see beyond a narrow focus and understand how their part fits into the big picture.<br />
<br />
One technique to develop your ability to inspire is telling stories. Stories can be examples from your customers, fictitious examples from your customers, or even historical fables and myths. Stories can help you vividly illustrate what you are trying to communicate. Stories that communicate on an emotional level help communicate deeper than words and leave an imprint much stronger than anything you can achieve through a simple stating of the facts. As <a href="http://www.johnmaxwell.com/"><span style="color: blue;">John Maxwell </span></a>says, "People want to know the why behind the what". He is a great storyteller.<br />
<br />
Learning to be inspiring is not easy–particularly for individuals lacking in charisma. It can be learned. Take note of people who inspire you and analyze the way they communicate. Look for ways to passionately express your vision. While there will always be room for improvement, a small investment in effort and awareness will give you a significant improvement in this leadership trait.<br />
<br />
Successful individuals have an intentional plan o</span><span style="color: black; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">f development. They know what they're doing and why they're doing it. For you & your team to be successful, it needs a structured and consistent plan with accountability to help them not only learn leadership, but to live out their leadership skills. Staying focused & motivated can be a challenge. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTLDvh58Fbjb6pdDyAIGdepxYp40EBt8QMUnyYGJjkCUG14Z9KR" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTLDvh58Fbjb6pdDyAIGdepxYp40EBt8QMUnyYGJjkCUG14Z9KR" /></a></div><div style="font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Why do businesses fail in the first year? Your first answer may be funding. Would it surprise you to know that most fail due to losing interest & motivation in the business? It's true.</div><div style="font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Pressure to succeed can be overwhelming. This pressure taps our insecurities which leads to fear, stress, worry; ultimately burn-out.</div><div style="font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">How can you stay focused, motivated for your business? </div><div style="font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">1. Seek support. Join local business networking groups. Start a business small group. Surround yourself with business stars. Make sure you are not the smartest one at the table. This will ensure you are receiving sound feedback & business advice from those who are succeeding.</div><div style="font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">2. Margins. Build in daily, weekly, monthly margins. What is that saying? The thing you can count on is change. When planning your business be sure to schedule in time to handle the unexpected. Schedule down time for yourself. Give yourself breathing room.</div><div style="font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">3. Inspiration. What inspires you? Surround yourself with pictures, quotes, music & people that spur your creativity. Read books that have nothing to do with business. Give your brain a little vacation.</div><div style="font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">4. Serve. Volunteer to teach kids about business. Call your local homeless shelter & see if they can use you to teach computers or serve food. Giving back is the best thing you can do for yourself. It is a great reminder of how blessed we are in life.</div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">5. Exercise. It releases endorphins in the brain. It gets your muscles moving. It pushes you & ultimately makes you stronger not only physically, but mentally.</span><br />
